Hin Onde where a band from Finland that played a very atmospheric form of viking/black metal with a melodic edge and this is a review of their 2000 album "Songs of Battle" which was released by Aftermath Music.
Drums range from slow to mid paced drumming with not much in the way of fast playing or blast beats along with some percussion playing, while the synths bring a very epic, pagan, folk and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very and powerful sound with heavy riffs that dominate throughout the recording
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced viking/black metal riffs that utilize a great amount of melody in the riffing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding viking metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly high pitched viking/black metal screams along with some deep death metal growls and a great amount of clean singing, while the lyrics cover Norse and Finnish Paganism, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Hin Onde are a very great sounding atmospheric viking/black metal band with a melodic and folk music edge and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Rune-Singer's Path" "Burning The Lake Alue" "Fimbulwinter" and "Paganheart". RECOMMENDED BUY.
