The Beast/Fixed By The Devil/Painkiller Records/2003 CD Review

The  Beast  are  a  band  from  Belgium  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  primitive  form  of  satanic  black/goat  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2003  album  "Fixed  By  The  Devil"  which  was  released  by  Painkiller  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  great  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  as  for  the  sound  effects  when  they  are  utilized  they  bring  a  very  dark  and  ritualistic  sound  to  the  music.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black/goat  metal  riffs  that  are  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix  and  have  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  them,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  primitive  sounding  black/death  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  range  from  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  to  deep  goat  metal  growls  as  well  as  some  spoken  word  ritualistic  parts,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism  and  Anti  Christian  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  The  Beast  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  primitive  black/goat  metal band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style  of  music, you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Black  Ritual"  and  "Satanic  Dominion".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
