Noctuary where a band from California that played black metal with a melodic edge and this a review of their 2000 album "When Fires Bleed Blood" which was released by Last Disciple Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with heavy riffs that dominate throughout the recording, as for the pianos when they are utilized they bring a classical music sound to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that utilize a great amount of melody, thrash and traditional metal influences in the riffing while the lead guitars when they are utilized they are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads, as for the classical guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking to enhance the darkness that is coming out of the music.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with some deep death metal growls as well as a brief use of clean singing, while the lyrics cover darkness and anti christian themes, as for the production on this recording it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Noctuary where a very great sounding black metal band with a melodic and traditional metal edge and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check this album out. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Clouds Donning The Black Sun" "A Tears Descent From Heaven" and "Frim Ashes We Rise". RECOMMENDED BUY.
