Dismemberment are a band from Southern Ohio that plays a mixture of war, black, death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 ep "Denied Salvation".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with riffs that dominate throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine influences from war, black, death and thrash metal together to create a sound of their own along with a great amount of technical and melodic parts being thrown into the riffing, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding black/death metal guitar solos and leads that utilize some melody at times.
Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams that have a thrash metal feeling to them as well as a brief use of deep death metal growls, while the lyrics cover dark and anti christian themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording and you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Dismemberment are a very great sounding hybrid of war, black, death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of this style, you should check this band out. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Last Rites" and "Reap What You Sow". RECOMMENDED BUY.
