Plaggha are a 1 man band from Spain that plays an ambient form of occult black metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "XI" which was released by Negra Nit Distro.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the synths bring a very occult, atmospheric and dark ambient sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding in the classic black metal tradition with some dark sounding melodies being thrown into the music at times in addition a couple of the songs are long and epic in length and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly pitched black metal screams mixed in with a brief use of deep demonic growls, while the lyrics cover Death Worship, Occultism, and Necromancy, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Plaggha are a very great sounding dark, raw and primitive occult/ambient black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Invoking The Eleven Dead Names" and "Annihilation Of The Pillars Of Creation". RECOMMENDED BUY.
