Plageundgraves are a band from Greece that plays a very raw and primitive form of black metal mixed in with some influences from death metal and crust punk and this is a review of their 2012 album "Sclerosis" which was released by Domestic Genocide.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, and there is no bass guitar present on this recording with the music going for more of the guitars, drums and vocals approach.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding while the more raw parts have crust punk influences and the melodic parts utilize some death metal with somewhat of a more modern technical edge which is only used rarely and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly high pitched hateful black metal vocals that have a crust/punk attitude to them in addition there are some quest vocals from some of the more well known members of the Greek black metal scene, while the lyrics cover hateful themes which are alot different than what most black metal bands cover, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the songs being somewhat short.
In my opinion Plaguendgraves are a very great and original sounding raw and primitive black metal band with a death metal and crust punk edge and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prejudice" "Compulsion" and "Remnants Of A Ruined Life". RECOMMENDED BUY.
