Black Dawn are a band from Finland that plays a very heavy, brutal, raw and primitive form of satanic black metal with a death metal edge and this is a review of their 2001 album "Blood For Satan" which was released by Necropolis Records.
Drums range from mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.
Rhythm guitars range from mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very heavy, brutal, raw and primitive sounding with some death metal influences being thrown into the riffing as well as some dark sounding melodies and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams with some deep death metal growls being thrown in at times as well as some samples from movies in addition there are also some spoken word parts, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Black Witchcraft, Rituals and Demonology, The Philosophy of The Order Of The Nine Angles and Anti Christian themes, as for the production it has a very dark, string, powerful and heavy sound to it.
In my opinion Black Dawn are a very great sounding heavy, brutal, raw and primitive satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Hymn To Grand Darkness" "Of Blackest Witchcraft" "A Horned Moon Rising" and "Blood For Satan". RECOMMENDED BUY.
