Sin Origin where a band from Canfield, Ohio that played a very raw, brutal, heavy, primitive and melodic form of epic occult black metal and this is a review of their 2005 album "In The Presence Of A Dead Magician" which was released by blackmetal.com.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very heavy, brutal, raw, primitive and melodic sounding with some traditional, thrash and death metal influences being thrown into the music in addition all of the songs except for the intro and outro are very long and epic in length with the songs being very diverse, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads that have more of a traditional metal feeling which makes the music stand out as different.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with some deep death metal growls being thrown into the music at times as well as a brief spoken word part, while the lyrics cover Darkness, Evil, Satanism and Occult themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound while not taking away from the raw and primitive nature of the music.
In my opinion Sin Origin where a very great sounding heavy, brutal, raw, primitive and melodic epic occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In The Presence Of A Dread Magician" and "Ancient And Unentered Forests". RECOMMENDED BUY.
