Arkona where a band from Poland that played a very dark, raw and primitive form of pagan/black metal and this is a review of their 1996 album "Zeta Reticuli A Tale About Hatred And Total Enslavement" which was released by Eclipse Prod.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black/pagan black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding and utilize some melody in the riffing with some of the songs being long and epic in length and there are little no guitar solos or leads present on this recording except for the last song and they sound very primitive and melodic, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking and full chords to add a dark atmosphere to the music.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams with some spoken word parts and samples, while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover Slavic Paganism and Anti Christian themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Arkona where a very great sounding raw and primitive pagan/black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Demoniezne Spojezenia Bogow Skierowame Na Arkone W Dobie Rokwitu Nowej Wiary" "Niewykle Uciazliwa Droga Do Gwiazd Oraz Odwieczna Niemoe W Zrozumieniu Prawdy Ukrytej Na Biegunach Stratchu" and "Zete Reticuli - Ostateczne Pojednanie Ze Stwoercami Bez Konieecznosei Dalszej Reinkarnacii".
