Gospel Of Horns where a band from Australia that played a mixture of black, war and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2002 album "A Call To Arms" which was released by Invictus Productions.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the synths which are only used on the intro and the last song bring a very dark and avant garde sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful sound with primitive riffs that dominate throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast raw and primitive riffs that combine elements of black, war and thrash metal together to create a sound of their own, while the lead guitars are very raw and primitive sounding black/thrash metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are all high pitched black/war metal screams with some spoken word samples, while the lyrics cover Occultism, Darkness, Hate and War themes, as for the production it has a very raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Gospel of Horns where a very great sounding hybrid of black, war and thrash metal and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Absolute Power" "Vengeance is Mine" and "Powers Of Darkness". RECOMMENDED BUY.
