Diaboli are a band from Finland that plays a very dark, raw and primitive form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 1998 album "Towards Damnation" which was released by Full Moon Productions.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the synths they are only utilized briefly and they bring another dimension of darkness to the music with a variety of many different musical keys.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding with most of the songs not being either too long or short and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are all grim sounding high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Finnish and cover Satanism, Darkness and Anti Christian themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Diaboli are a very great sounding raw and primitive satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "To Burn The Kingdom Of God" "Saatanan Viha" and "Under the Leadership Of A New God". RECOMMENDED BUY.
