Swarm Of Hatred are a band from Chile that plays an occult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Shrine Of Negativity" which was released by Australis Records.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album before going into a heavier musical direction while the solos and leads are done in a very dark yet melodic style. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can also be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly angry sounding black metal screams while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them along with the riffs also utilizing a great amount of dark sounding melodies.
A great amount of Swedish influences can also be heard in the bands musical style while also taking it into a more modern and aggressive direction and other than the intro the music sticks to mostly a fast, aggressive and heavy direction. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Luciferian, Occultism, Gnosis and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Swarm Of Hatred are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Citadel of Bones" "Puking To The Crown Of Thorns" "Hate Declaration" and "Starless Warfare". 8 out of 10.
