Cuntroaches/Self Titled/SKIN GRAFT Records/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Cuntroaches  are  a  band  from  Germany  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  metal  and  noise  rock  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2024  album  which  will b e  released  in  February  by  SKIN  GRAFT  Records.

  Noises  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  distorted  style.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  sounding  while t he  vocals  are  mostly  black  metal  screams  and  the  mid  tempo  sections  also  ad  in  elements  of  punk  and  hardcore.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  some   spoken  word  parts  also  being  utilized  briefly  on  a  few  tracks  and  throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.    

  Cuntroaches  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black  metal,  noise  rock,  experimental  noise,  punk  and  hardcore  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  violent  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Cuntroaches  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black  metal  and  noise  rock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Borborygmus"  "Erbium:  YAG"  and  "Inside  me".  8  out  of  10.
