Tàmailt are a solo project from Montana that plays a very raw and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2024 ep "Echoed Calls In the Night" which will b e released in March by Fiadh Productions.
Nature sounds start off the ep before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing and the songs mix in both modern and old school influences.
Most of the tracks stick to a fast direction with only a small amount of slow or mid tempo sections. while the music also has its atmospheric moments. Solos and leads are also absent from this recording while synths are also added on the closing track
Tàmailt plays a style of black metal that is very raw and atmospheric sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover nature and folklore themes.
In my opinion Tàmailt are a very great sounding raw and atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE 'Wind Under The Wings Of An All Seer" and "Shadowed Wind". 8 out of 10.
