Nostra Dementia are a solo project from France that plays a very raw and depressive form of black metal and this is a review of his 2016 demo "Vestiges" which was released by Sepulchral Silence Records.
Atmospheric sounding synths start of t he album before going into a heavier direction as well as mixing the two together and the music also starts going into more of a depressive direction and when the music speeds up it uses a lot of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
Vocals are grim yet high pitched depressive black metal screams and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length while also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording along with some ambient elements and melodic singing along with clean guitars can also be heard briefly in certain sections of the music and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts.
Nostra Dementia plays a style of black metal that is very raw, atmospheric and depressive sounding while also bringing in a great mixture of both modern and old school influences, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover misanthropy, darkness, philosophical and depressive themes.
In my opinion Nostra Dementia are a very great sounding raw and depressive black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Personal Fall" and "There Where The Sun Does Noth Shine". 8 out of 10.
