Finland's Goats Of Doom" have returned with a new recording which shows the music going into more of a melodic occult black metal direction and this is a review of their album "Tie on Hanen Omilleen" which will be released on Purity Through Fire.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album while the faster sections of the music also adding in a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. The riffs also add in a decent amount of melody along with some clean vocals being utilized at times as well as the music being very heavily rooted in the 90's Finnish style but also very modern at the same time, deep growls can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and as the album progresses acoustic guitars can be heard briefly.
On this album Goats Of Doom moving away from the synth style and goes into more a guitar driven direction of black metal. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Finnish and cover Satanism, Thelema and Misanthropy themes.
In mu opinion this is another great sounding album from Goats Of Doom and if you are a fan of melodic occult black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Musten Unen Aiti" "Vakaumus ja Kuolema" and "Aamen". 8 out of 10.
