Grimah are a band from Spain that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a nihilistic and triumphant form of black metal and this is a review of their album "Intricacies Of Bowed Wisdom" which will be released in 2020 by Vertebrae.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off t he album while the faster sections of the music also bring in a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. The vocals are also done in a very deep black metal style and the solos and leads also add in a great amount of melody.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while some of the tracks are very long and epic in length. Melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing along with some crazy sounding screams also being added into certain sections of the recording.
The songs also add in a good mixture of both old school and modern influences as well as one track as the album progresses a brief use of acoustic guitars and clean playing can also be heard on a couple of songs. The production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover existentialism, misanthropy and nihilism themes and the closing track is written in Spanish.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Grimah and if you are a fan of nihilistic and triumphant black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Thus Spake The Stone" and "Facade Of Futile Reflections". 8 out of 10.
