Aethyrick are a duo from Finland that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very melodic and satanic form of occult black metal and this is a review of their album "Gnosis" which will be released in 2020 by The Sinister Flame.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking. All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style as well as a couple of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Acoustic guitars can also be heard briefly along with the songs also adding a decent amount of synths onto the recording which also gives the music more of an atmospheric feeling.
You can also hear a decent amount of 90's influences in the music but done in more of a modern style and as the album progresses clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and acoustic guitars also make a brief return. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, and Mysticism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Aethyrick and if you are a fan of melodic, satanic and occult black emtal, you should check out t his album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Will Embodied" "Your Mysteries" and "Golden Suffering". 8/5 out of 10.
