Blutsauger are a duo from Italy that plays a very apocalyptic form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2021 demo "Path Of The Bleeding Dead".
Apocalyptic soundscapes start off the demo along with some classical guitars a few seconds later before going into a very fast, raw and brutal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. One of the tracks also introduces growls into the music along with the solos and leads also being done in a very chaotic style when they are finally utilized, clean playing and synths can also be heard briefly.
Blutsauger plays a style of black metal that is very fast, raw, brutal and aggressive sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover nuclear apocalypse, perversion, death, anti Christianity and vampirism themes.
In my opinion Blutsauger are a very great sounding apocalyptic black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bloodspawn Necropolis" and "Der Todesmeister". 8 out of 10.
