Gates To The Morning are a band form New Jersey that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording goes for more of a progressive post rock style instead of the black metal direction of the last album and this is a review of their self released 2022 album "Walk Between Worlds" which will be released in July.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds later which also return on later tracks. At times the music also gets very progressive while percussion can also be heard on some of the songs and the recording also adds in a great amount of instrumentals.
Clean vocals are also added on one of the tracks while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style when they are utilized. Elements of folk music are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording along with the tracks also showing some influences of post rock as well as couple of the songs also being long and epic in length and the whole album also sticks to a slower direction and black metal vocals can also be heard briefly.
On this recording Gates To The Morning move away from the black metal style of their previous release and goes for more of an unplugged and acoustic style of progressive post rock. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover nature themes.

In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Gates to The Morning and if you are a fan of acoustic progressive post rock, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "King Obscure" "Paradigms Fall" "Chasing Shadows" and "Return To Earth". 8 out of 10.
