Broder are a duo from Denmark that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Skarpretterfossilet" which will be released in october by Extremely Rotten Productions.
A very distorted bass guitar sound starts off the album before going into a fast, raw and brutal war metal direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and element s of sludge metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs.
Bestial growls can also b e heard at times while the songs also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Most of the riffing is done on power chords along with only one track adding in a brie f use of melody, ritualistic sounds can also b e heard briefly and the closing track is very long and epic in length.
Broder plays a musical style that takes war and bestial black/death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Danish and cover the evolution of man.
In my opinion Broder are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE " En sten på et alter" and " Byldemor". 8 out of 10.
