Vurilanda are a duo from Indonesia that plays a raw mixture of black and funeral doom metal with elements of noise and this is a review of their 2023 rehearsal demo which will b e released on September 30th by Anonim Noise Records.
A very distorted bass guitar starts off the demo bringing in some slow funeral doom metal riffing while also being used as a lead instrument. Harsh noises can also b e heard at times along with the music also capturing a very lo-fi atmosphere and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
At time s the vocals also sound very tortured sounding while blast beats are also added onto the demo when the music finally speeds up. All of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with some synths also being utilized briefly and a lot of the music also sounds improvised.
Vurilanda plays a musical style that takes raw black, funeral doom metal and noise and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover haunting themes.
In my opinion Vurilanda are a very great sounding raw mixture of black, funeral doom metal and noise and if you are a fan of t hose musical genres, you should check out this demo. 8 out of 10.
