Daemonium Regni Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the musical project since the recording of the new album?

-We have released two lyric-videos/singles, a song called ”Mater Daemonium” wich is the first song and the one that opens the album., and ”Spiritus In FLammo” wich opens the B-side if you have the LP. These two are fully available for streaming.

The response has so far been great. We will release the album the 17th of April 2026 and ignite the world of its darkness.

2.You have a new album coming out in April, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

-The musical style is really a mix of doomy black metal with a very dark atmosphere and some fast brutal and raw elements combined.

The music is basically built around the vocals and follows it throughout the whole album, I would say. It is the vocals that is the main instrument in this album and leads us through the Dark dominion, in my opinion.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored with this release?

-There are so many depths that I have explored within myself to become the writer of this album, both musically and vocally. It ha all been equally important, from the first notes to the last word. It is all connected.

4.All of the lyrics on the new album where written in Latin, what was the decision behind using this language in the songwriting?

-I found that using latin in this way, could have a deeper meaning and give some more room for interpretation for the listener and for myself. The language is very old and were used long before the church, but also the words are written and spoken in a blasphemous way.

I also found another way for the vocals to be phrased and built, the words grows into the music like shadows in the night.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Daemonium Regni?

-We have to go back to the year of the goat in 2015, without going into further details about my incarnated soul, when I was searching for a darker place I havent found before. I found something, and the Daemonium Regni was born within all the chaos and fire.

6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

-The artwork cover and the logo, is made by the great artist Daniele Valeriani. He made the latest artwork for MAYHEM, and did also artwork for UNANIMATED in the past among many others great pieces for various bands.

The artwork he made for DAEMONIUM REGNI is a perfectly reflection of this album, and the details in it are just stunningly profound. The rest in this artwork must be in the eyes of the beholder to see and interpret.

7.With this project you record everything by yourself, but have plenty of experience working with musicians in other bands, do you prefer to work solo?

-No not always no, I enjoy both sides of working as a band, and working alone. There are advantages and disadvantages in both ways obviously.

Solo for me, has been a journey within I could not have done in another way.

I must be total free to release what I want to become. It took me many years to find that way.

8.You have a history playing in bands as far back as the mid 80's, what is it that motivates you to keep going after more than 30 years?

-Well, there is this black flame..

You also mentioned it, more than 30 years of service, I know nothing else.

I am constantly learning and develop musically and vocally, until the day I do not.

But I still have much more to release upon the world, the last thing I release will be my death, that we know for certain. I can’t tell exactly what motivates me, it’s just in my veins, in my soul and heart and everything that is me. I need it as much as it needs me, nothing else in this world can calm my brain and the spirit being as the music can, it’s my therapy.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your newer music by fans of underground metal?

-I must say, the fans of underground metal are very supportive. They are the best and most honestly fans.

10.Where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future?

-I will just keep developing and write more music, it may be solo or in a band. The future will tell.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles you are currently listening to nowadays?

-These days I listen to everything and at the same time nothing, at the end of the day I still listen a lot to old bands and albums from back in the day, they are still the ones that ment the most and still are the best ones.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

-A big thanks to all fans, you know who you are.

I hope you enjoy the music, that is all I ever could wish for.
