Heilig Vuur/Dance Of The Stone Silhouettes/Feral Heart Productions/2025 Album Re-Issue Review

  Heilig  Vuur  are  a  band  from  Vancouver  B.C,  Canada  that  plays  a  very  cold  and  defiant  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "Dance  of  The  Stone  Silhouettes"  which  was  re-issued  in  2025  by  Feral  Heart  Productions.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  black  metal  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  done  in  more  of  a  growling  style  which  also  adds  in  elements  of  death  metal  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  old  school  touches.  Most of  the  riffing  is  also  done  on  power  chords  with  only  a  brief  use  of  melody  along  with  all  of  the  songs  also  avoiding  the  use  of  any  solos  or  leads  and  synths  can  also  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  tracks.

  Heilig  Vuur  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  fast,  raw  and  aggressive  sounding  with  a  touch  of  death  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  stoicism  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  Heilig  Vuur  are  a  very  great  sounding  cold  and  defiant  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Undefeated  Sun"  "Dance  Of  Th  Stone  Silhouettes"  and  "Divine  Vision".  8  out  of  10.
