Eternal Valley are a 1 man band from Washington that plays a very diverse form of black metal with elements of thrash, dsbm, and ambient and this is a review of their self released 2013 album "When Darkness Fills All Dimensions".
"Eternal Hell" starts of with some dark ambient soundscapes with the synths changing round keys and serving as an intro for the album with some drum beats.
"Theistic Disease" starts off with some occult black metal guitar riffing and drums which lead to grim screams and thrash influences being thrown into the riffs as well as some d ark sounding melodies which also set the pace for some deep demonic growls and blast beats and after awhile the song goes into a slower and darker direction before returning to the black thrash elements which also sets the pace for a guitar solo which combines with the rhythms as well as switching back and forth between slow and fast parts.
"Satanic Moonlight Possession" starts off dark guitar riffs and drums and after awhile screams make their presence known and the music gets heavier with death metal growls an after a few minutes guitar leads combine with the rhythm parts and a minute later the song goes into a more fast direction for a few seconds before slowing down again.
"Hate Ritual" starts off wit some dark sounding occult synths which leads to a dark occult black metal guitar lead and drums before the screams kick in and take the music into a more fast and primitive direction along with some blast beats and after a couple of minutes the music goes into a more slow direction and adds in some dsbm elements before going into a more black thrash orientated sound for awhile before slowing down again and closing.
"A Dark Path To A Forgotten World" starts off with some dark ambient synths and as the song moves on the keys change around a bit with no vocals or other instruments being present during the 11 minutes of the song.
"Left To Rot" starts off with some sound effects and drone style guitar playing before going into a heavy black metal direction with guitars, drums and screams which in return takes the music into a faster and primitive direction along with some blast beats as well as switching back and forth between slow and fast parts and mixing in death metal growls and after awhile a very dark sounding death metal guitar solo makes its presence known and mixes with the rhythms and vocals for a few seconds.
"Death Wont End Your Suffering" starts off with some primitive guitar riffing which leads to some blast beats, screams and growls and as the song moves on the riffs get alot more diverse while remaining heavy and mixing in a small amount of guitar leads before going into a slower and heavier death metal influenced direction before returning to the fast, d ark and primitive elements.
"Deteriorating Consciousness" starts off with dark ambient synths which utilize a variety of many different sounding keys and there are no vocals or other instruments being utilized with the song being an instrumental ambient piece.
Song lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, and Death themes, while the production h as a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the bass playing being mixed down low in the mix as well as some of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Eternal Valley are a very great sounding diverse black metal project with elements of dark ambient and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album.
