This is a review of a split 7 inch between Michigan's Nazarene Whore and Argentina's Nocturnal Evil, 2 one man bands that play raw and primitive satanic black metal with the ep being called "Invocations Of Necrosodomy/Dark Realm Mysticism" which was released by Iron Bonehead Productions in 2013 and we will start of the review with Nazarene Whore.
"Priest Impaler" starts off with some sound effects before the fast and primitive guitar riffs, blast beats and high pitched black metal screams kick in while also throwing in growls and staying fast till the end.
"Thy Putrescent Christ" starts off with with old school black metal riffing before going into faster riffing, blasting drums high pitched black metal screams and bestial growls as well as remaining fast till the end of the song.
"Dead Messiah" starts off with fast primitive black/war metal riffing, blasting drums, high pitched screams and deep demonic growls but also adding in some open note riffing along side the power chords.
Song lyrics cover Satanism, Blasphemous and Sodomy themes, while the production has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound with the bass guitars being mixed down low in the mix.
In my opinion Nazarene Whore are a very great sounding raw and primitive blasphemous, black/war metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Thy Putrescent Christ". RECOMMENDED BUY.
Next up is Nocturnal Evil.
"Dark Realm Of Mysticism' starts off with a more dark ambient sound before heading into primitive old school black metal riffs and blasting drums which sets up the mood for the grim screams which in returns takes the song into a more war metal direction while also retaining the old school riffing as well as slowing down in some parts while remaining dark and evil along with some deeper vocals and guitar leads towards the end of the song while still closing with the rhythm's.
Song lyrics cover Satanism and Occultism themes, while the production has a very dark, old school, raw and primitive sound with the bass guitars being mixed down low in the mix.
In my opinion Nocturnal Evil are a very great sounding raw and primitive, satanic black metal project with the best music on the album and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and if you are a fan of blasphemous and satanic black emtal, you should add this 7 inch to your collection. RECOMMENDED BUY.
