Marozia are a duo from Brazil that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep "Os Caminhos Que Eka Dita".
A very fast raw and melodic sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the vocals being mostly deep yet grim black metal screams as well as the music being very heavily rooted in the 90's second wave tradition.
A couple of the tracks a re long and epic in length while the solos and leads also bring in a very raw, melodic and old school style along with some of the songs also bringing in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as w ell as the music sounding like it could of easily been recorded and released in 93 or 94, acoustic guitars and harmonica's can also be heard briefly and spoken word parts a re also added onto the closing track.
Marozia plays a style of black metal that is very raw and heavily rooted in the 90's second wave tradition, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics are written in Portuguese and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Marozia are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Diabo Velho". 8 out of 10.
