Blood Rites are a band from Chile that plays a Greek influenced style of old school black metal and this is a review of their 2018 demo which will be released in June on cassette by Caverna Abismal Records.
Dark and ritualistic soundscapes start off the demo before going into a heavier direction which also introduces grim black metal screams onto the recording while the riffing also brings in a great amount of dark sounding melodies as well along with some atmospheric synths being added into certain sections of the recording.
Most of the music is very heavily rooted in the early 90's Greek style while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats along with some deep growls also being used at times and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
Blood Rites plays a style of black metal that goes back to the early 90's Greek era of the genre, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover darkness and occult themes.
In my opinion Blood Rites are a very great sounding Greek influenced black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Dark Majestics". 8 out of 10.
