Garden Of Hesperides are a solo project from Northern California that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2018 ep "Forest Journey Pt.III" which was released by Bloody Mountain Records.
Spoken word parts start off the ep before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and programmed blast beats while the music also mixes atmospheric elements into the heavier sections of the songs along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
Deep guttural death metal growls can also be heard at times while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some ambient style synths also being utilized at times as well as spoken word parts also returning on some of the later tracks and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic style and a later track introduces acoustic guitars and black metal screams onto the recording, a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the closing track is an isntrumental.
Garden Of Hesperides plays a style of black metal t hat is very atmospheric while the vocals are done in a more death metal style, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover nature, forests and mountain themes when they are utilized.
In my opinion Garden Of Hesperides are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Still Silence" and "Final Moments". 8 out of 10.
