Griddam Arghamath are a duo from Argentina that plays an ambient form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Abysmal Hexagram" which was released by black Noise and contains a 6 tarot arcana corresponding to each song and the album is the first part of a 4 album concept which will complete the whole 22 tarot arcana.
A very fast, raw and lo-fi sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the solos and leads being done in a very dark yet melodic style and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the music also mixing in a great amount of dark ambient elements which also brings in a great amount of synths as well as one track introducing whispered vocals onto the recording.
Griddam Argamath plays a musical style that takes a raw form of black metal and mixes it with dark ambient to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover Blasphemy. Esotericism and Self Destruction themes.
In my opinion Griddam Argamath are a very great sounding ambient black metal duo and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Necromancer Rising Around Dead Ravens" and "Alive Through Me". 8 out of 10.
