Mòr/Hear The Hour Nearing!/Les Acteurs de I Ombre Productions/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Mòr  are  a  duo  from  France  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "Hear  The  Hour  Nearing!"  which  will b e  released  in  April  by  Les  Acteurs  de  I Ombre  Productions.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilzied  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  atmospheric  sounding  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized,  a  couple of  the  tracks  are  also  instrumentals  and  the  whole  album  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

  Mòr  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw,  atmospheric  and  modern  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Mòr  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  atmospheric  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Vanishing  Of  Matter"  "Third  Path"  and  "Smaragdina".  8  out  of  10.
