Poroniec are a band from Poland that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording goes for a very aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of his 2024 album "W pologu" which was released by Putrid Cult.
Dark sounding synths start off the album along with some some clear male and female chants a few seconds later and spoken word parts which also return on a later song can also be heard briefly before introducing angry sounding black metal screams onto the recording which also takes the music into more of a heavier direction.
Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing while the faster sections of the songs also add in a decent amount of tremolo picking and brutal blast beats which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling. Elements of death metal can also be heard at times and a lot of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the tracks also adding in a small amount of clean playing. Growls can also be heard at times as well as the guitar solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style when they are utilized and clear vocals can also be heard briefly, avant garde and dissonant touches can also be heard at times. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover humankind's repugnant existence.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Poroniec and if you are a fan of aggressive and modern black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Niepryzystepni" "Moralności" and "Wątpliwości". 8 out of 10.
