AntiFlesh are a band from Poland that plays a very modern and aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2024 album "Hosanna" which will be released in June by Theogonia Records.
Dark soundscapes and synths start off the album before going into a heavier direction while the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Vocals are mostly angry sounding black metal screams and the riffs also add in a lot of melody.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Acoustic guitars and clean playing can also be heard on a couple of songs along with the music also having its atmospheric moments and some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well a s adding in a good mixture of both old school and modern influences.
AntiFlesh plays a style of black metal t hat is very atmospheric, aggressive and nihilistic sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the dark recesses of the human psyche.
In my opinion AntiFlesh are a very great sounding modern and aggressive black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ceremony Of Black " "Et Gloria In Saecula" "Impaled Flesh" and "Funeral Whore'. 8 out of 10.
