Inherits The Void are a solo project from France that plays a very atmospheric and melodic mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of his 2024 album "Scars Of Yesteryears" which will be released in June by Avantgarde Music.
A very heavy yet melodic sound starts off the album while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic style while the synths also give the songs more of an atmospheric feeling. Acoustic guitars can also be heard on a couple of tracks along with the album also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and death metal growls can also be heard at times.
Elements of doom metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the album along with the tracks also adding in some influences of the 90's Swedish era in with a more modern style, clear vocals and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly as well as a couple of songs also being long and epic in length. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and French and cover the legacy left by present and past societies.
In my opinion Inherits The World are a very great sounding atmospheric and melodic mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Orchard Of Grief" "The Meander's Gate" and "The Endless Glow Of Twilight". 8 out of 10.
