Death Worship are a band from Vancouver B.C, Canada that plays a mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2018 demo "Extermination Mass" which will be released on cassette on September 28th by Nuclear War Now! Productions.
A very fast raw and brutal war metal sound starts off the demo along with a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and bestial growls along with the solos and leads being done in a very chaotic style and the music also has a lot of mid 90's to early 2000's influences.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while a touch of grindcore can also be heard in the fast and brutal sections of the music along with the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of tremolo picking as well as a couple of tracks bringing in a brief use of ritualistic sounds before returning back to a heavier direction.
Death Worship continues the war metal tradition that was established in the members previous bands Revenge, Conqueror and Blasphemy but also sounding but taking into into more of a rawer and darker direction, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover nihilism and death themes.
In my opinion Death Worship are a very great sounding war metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this cassette. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Evocation Chamber" and "The Chaos Trance". 8 out of 10.
