Daagh are a solo project from Norway that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal with elements of blackgaze and this is a review of his self titled 2018 ep which will be released on September 23rd by Wolfspell Records.
A very dark, and heavy sound starts off the ep along with some melodic guitar leads a few seconds later while the vocals are mostly depressive black metal screams along with some atmospheric sounding synths also being utilized at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the tremolo picking giving the music more of a raw feeling when it is utilized as well as the music also bringing in a great amount of shoegaze elements.
Daagh plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in atmospheric black metal while also mixing in depressive and blackgaze elements, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Daagh are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I" and "IV". 8 out of 10.
