Amidst Dreams Of Tomorrow are an international project with members from Portugal, Ireland and the United kingdom that plays an atmospheric form of post black metal and this is a review of their self released 2021 ep "Beached Things" which will be released in February.
Nature sounds start off the ep along with some tragic sounding pianos a few seconds later while the music also adds in a decent amount of synths and orchestral arrangements which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times along with the songs also having their atmospheric moments.
All of the tracks are also instrumentals while the music also adds in a decent amount of post rock elements. During the faster sections of the songs a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling along with a couple of tracks also adding in some acoustic guitars.
Melodies are also added into the guitar riffing as well as the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them, all of the drum beats are also programmed while the production also sounds very dark and raw.
In my opinion Amidst Dreams Of Tomorrow are a very great sounding atmospheric post black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Our Last Winter" and "Ashes under The Grave". 8 out of 10.
