This is a review of a split cassette between Australia's Toresian Call and U.S.A's Welldweller which will be released in February, 2021 by Eternal Death and we will start off the review with Toresian Call a solo project that plays a traditional style of black metal.
His side of the split starts out with a very dark and ritualistic sounding intro along with some synths a few seconds later before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Most of the music also shows an influence of the old school American style as well as adding in touches of the 90's era along with the songs also adding in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts, all of the riffing is also done on power chords. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Toresian Call are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal solos project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS "I' and "V".
Next up is Welldweller a solo project that plays a very raw form of black metal.
His side of the split starts out with a very fast and raw sound which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Synths can also be heard in some parts of the music while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams and the track is also over 10 minutes in length.
The song also adds in a decent amount of 90's influences along with the music also having its repetitive moments as well as the track also adding in some clean playing after the music finally slows down. The production sounds very dark and raw while the vocals cover witchcraft themes.
In my opinion Welldweller are a very great sounding raw black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out his side of the split.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of raw and old school black metal. 8 out of 10.
