Apocryphetic are a band from Knob Creek, Tennessee that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2020 ep "Heir To The Cosmos" which was released by Sunshine Ward Recordings.
A very dark, heavy and brutal sound starts off the album while the vocals sections of the songs also add in a great amount of blast beats. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very chaotic yet old school style along with the vocals being a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls.
The songs also add in a great amount of 90's influences while some of the faster sections of the songs also add in elements of war metal. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with all of the musical instruments also having a very pow4erful sound to them and a brief use of keyboards can also be heard on the closing track.
Apocryphetic plays a musical style that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's death metal era as well as mixing in the brutality of war and bestial black/death metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, violent and apocalyptic themes.
In my opinion Apocryphetic are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Liturgy Of The Blade" "Apocalyptic Prophecies" and "Dawn Of Lamentation". 8 out of 10.
