Greece's Eriphion have returned with a new recording which shows the music expanding on the experimental post black metal style that was introduced on the previous ep and this is a review of their self released 2021 album "Ερίφιον2-ΑναδόμΗση".
Drum beats along with a powerful sounding bass guitar starts off the album while heavier riffs are also introduced a few seconds later. The music also shows an influence of noise rock as well as the vocals being mostly deep yet angry black metal screams and most of the tracks a re also very long and epic in length.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard while the album also gets very experimental sounding at times. Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also adding in some elements of noise as well as one tack also adding spoken word parts onto the recording.
Clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the music also capturing an improv atmosphere at times as well as one of the tracks also being an instrumental, some of the songs also bring in a ritualistic vibe and as the album progresses a small amount of synths can also be heard. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics are written in Greek and cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eriphion and if you are a fan of experimental post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE " Κατά συρροή ανεύθυνοι φίλοι" and "Ώρες". 8 out of 10,.
