Sort Sind/I Skyggen af Livet/Nuclear Winter Records/Desicated Productions2023 Full Length Review

 

  Sort  Sind  are  a  band from  Denmark  that  plays  an  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2023  album  "I  Skyggen  af  Livet"  which  will  be  released  in  November  as  a  joint  effort  between  Nuclear  Winter  Records  and  Desicated  Productions.

  Acoustic  guitars  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  grim  sounding  black  emtal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  while  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  melody,  when  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  they  also  give  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Sort  Sind  plays  a  musical  style  that  goes  back  to  the  90's  era  of  black  and  death  metal  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Danish  and  cover  the  spiral  of  madness.

  In  my  opinion  Sort  Sind  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Fortærer"  "Tomhed"  and  "Dysterhed".  8  out  of  10.
