Sorathian Dawn are a band from Australia that plays a very melodic and occult form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2023 album "Radiant Terror".
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album along with some thunder sounds before going into more of a heavier and melodic direction. When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Most of the music is also very heavily rooted in the Swedish style while the solos and leads also add in a lot of melody. The songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the tracks being long and epic in length along with one track also introducing clean playing onto the album, death metal growls can also be heard at times as well as one track also being an instrumental.
Sorathian Dawn plays a style of occult black metal that is very melodic and aggressive sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the Wild Hunt, Kalki The Destroyer, Eastern/Western Mythologies, Sinister Occult Practices and Doctrines.
In my opinion Sorathian Dawn are a very great sounding melodic occult black metal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Arsonist Of Creation" "Tyrant Wolf Cult Attacks" and "Sons of Sulphur". 8 out of 10.
