The Last Eon are a duo from Norway that plays a very electronic and industrial form of black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Infernal Fractality" which will be released in November by Soulseller Records.
Industrial style sounds and dark soundscapes start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with some growls also being utilized at times and all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them.
When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats can be heard which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling. Clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the songs also mixing in a lot of electronic music elements and synths.
Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing along with one song also introducing clear vocals onto the album as well as the music also having its psychedelic moments, throat singing can also b e heard briefly as the album progresses and when guitar solos and leads are utilized briefly they are also done in a very melodic style. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Luciferian ideals, non duality pointers and the mystical principles found in psychedelic experiences.
In my opinion The Last Eon are a very great sounding industrial black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Black Legion" "The Birth Of No-One" and "Thus Light Spoke". 8 out of 10.
