Bleeding Sorrow are a solo project from Australia that plays a very atmospheric and depressive form of post black metal and this is a review of his self released 2023 album 'Wither".
Clean playing starts off the album before going into a heavier direction while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Most of the songs are also very long and epic in length while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody and the vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams.
At times the music also gets very atmospheric sounding while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic post metal style. Clean playing also returns on the later tracks along with some keyboards also being utilized briefly, on song also has guest vocals from J.J of Harakiri For The Sky which are also done in a clear style and when the music finally speeds up a small amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling.
Bleeding Sorrow plays a style of post black metal that is very atmospheric and depressive sounding. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover depression and melancholy themes.
In my opinion Bleeding Sorrow are a very great sounding atmospheric and depressive post black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Scent of Sorrow" and "This Violent End". 8 out of 10.
