Aborym are a band from Italy that has been around for more than 20 years with a musical style that mixes raw and primitive sounding black metal with industrial and electro music and this is a review of their 2013 album "Dirty" which was released by Agonia Records and contains one cd of original material and another one with mostly covers, unreleased and re-recorded tracks.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the keyboards and programming bring a very dark atmospheric, industrial and electro sound to t he music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine raw and primitive sounding black metal with industrial and electro music to create a sound of their own along with some melody being thrown into the riffing at times, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding extreme metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars they are only used on one song and use finger picking and full chords to enhance the darkness of the music.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with some deep demonic growls, clean singing gothic industrial vocals and some spoken word parts and samples, while the lyrics cover violent and hateful themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Aborym and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Across The Universe" "Helter Skelter Youth" "The Day The Sun Stopped Smiling" and "Hallowed By Thy Name" which is an Iron Maiden cover. RECOMMENDED BUY.
