This is a review of another recording from Walden with the musical style being atmospheric black metal mixed in with folk music elements and this is a review of their 2011 album "Isolation" which was released by Bubonic Breakout Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into t he music, while the keyboards bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast atmospheric black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding with a good amount of melody being thrown into the riffing along with some doom metal influences and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording, as for the acoustic guitars they use finger picking and full chords to add the folk music elements to the album.
Vocals are all grim sounding black metal screams that utilize a depressive tone at times, while the lyrics cover nature and melancholy themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it while you can s till hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Walden and if you are a fan of raw and primitive sounding atmospheric black metal with folk music elements, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "There Was A Forest" "Isolation Ritual" and "The End Of Existence". RECOMMENDED BUY.
