Panzergod are a band from Portland, Oregon that plays a very heavy, dark and old school form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "Forged In Grief" which was released by Blood Of The Innocent.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the riffing, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with primitive black metal riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast old school black metal riffs that are very heavy and dark sounding with some raw and primitive elements and melody being thrown into the riffing as well as some death metal influences being utilized at times, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding black metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals a re mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with a brief use of deep growls, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, Darkness, and Anti Christian themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy, dark and primitive sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Panzergod are a very great sounding heavy, old school, satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Forged In Grief" "Nail That Fucker To The Upside Down Cross" and "Surrender To The Grave". RECOMMENDED BUY.
