Blight are a band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada that plays a very raw and primitive form of orthodox black metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Death Reborn".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to t hem.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very heavy, raw and primitive sounding along with some death metal influences and melody being thrown into the riffing, while the lead guitars are very dark sounding orthodox black metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals range from hateful black metal screams to deep death metal growls as well as some spoken word ritualistic passages, while the lyrics cover Occultism and Gnostic themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and dark sound to it.
In my opinion Blight are a very great sounding heavy orthodox black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Gnostic Dirge". RECOMMENDED BUY.
