Eldjudnir are a band from Denmark that plays a very grim form of viking/black metal and this is a review of their self released 2010 ep "Ragnarok".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times as well as some percussion work, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast pagan/black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding, while the lead guitars are very melodic and primitive sounding viking/black metal guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars they use finger picking to add an epic and medieval feeling to the recording.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with some spoken word parts, while the lyrics are written in Danish and cover Norse Paganism themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with most of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Eldjudnir are a very great sounding grim viking/black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this e.p. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fimbulvinterens Komme" and "Ragnarok". RECOMMENDED BUY.
