Save The Green Forest are a band from Russia that plays a mixture of raw and primitive sounding post black metal and punk and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "First".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the sound effects bring elements of experimental and ambient to the recording, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine raw and primitive sounding black metal with post rock and punk together to create a sound of t heir own, while the lead guitars are very raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals range from grim sounding black metal screams to clean singing as well as a brief use of spoken word samples, while the lyrics cover nature themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Save The Green Forest are a very great sounding hybrid of raw and primitive sounding black metal, post rock and punk and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "With Green Eyes" and "Lost Wisdom" which is a Burzum cover. RECOMMENDED BUY.
